Hops on the lake is a district of the Bavarian city Feet in the Swabian district Ostallgäu. The climatic and Kneipp health resort, which is characterized by tourism, is located on the north shore of the Hopfensee about four kilometers northwest of Füssen at an altitude of 801 m above sea level.

The first known documentary mention of Hopfen am See comes from the year 1172, at that time under the name de Hophen. For a long time the place consisted of only a few houses. At the beginning of the 20th century, the village gradually enlarged, and it received the official addition at sea awarded.
After the Second World War it began to develop into a health resort and holiday resort. As part of the Bavarian municipal area reform, the previously independent municipality was initially enlarged to include the town of Eschach (Füssen) on April 1, 1971, but then assigned to the city of Füssen on May 1, 1978. The long lake promenade is nicknamed "Allgäu Riviera" because of its many cafés and restaurants.

As the four-lane highway is narrowed to two lanes directly after Füssen at the border tunnel and only continues on two lanes in neighboring Tyrol, traffic jams and obstructions can occur on busy days (mainly Saturday and Sunday in July and August) before the Füssen exit.
