Hållö is an island near Smögen and Kungshamn. The island belongs to the municipality Sotenäs in the province Bohuslan.

By boat

Of Kungshamn and Smögen you can take the boat to Hållö.

Tourist Attractions

  • 1 The 20 m high lighthouse Hållö Fyr has been in operation since 1868 and is one of the oldest in Bohuslän. Open from mid-June to mid-August from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Hållö chapel, next to the lighthouse.
  • On the west side of the island there is one Marble basin in a small bay, turquoise blue and clear water.
  • To the south of it there is a place called Kålhälla. There, the former lighthouse keepers grew crops on the barren ground.

The island is also popular with ornithologists for bird watching.

A café is open in the youth hostel during the summer. From the end of June to mid-August there are drinks, coffee and cake, waffles, sandwiches and ice cream from 10.30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
