Kungshamn is located on a peninsula and is a popular destination for tourists. The place belongs to the community Sotenäs in the province Bohuslan. Kungshamn is the main town of the municipality (Swedish kommun), with the town hall, where all official work is carried out.

Tourist Attractions
- Kungshamns Church, Kungshamns kyrka, was built during the reign of King Oscar II in 1879. It burned down in 1901 and was rebuilt in 1903.
