Hai Duong[1] is a province located in the Red River Delta, Vietnam. History

Under the Hung Kings, Hai Duong belonged to the Duong Tuyen order; under the Northern domination, belonging to Hong Chau; under the Tran dynasty, it was changed to Hong Lo, in the 10th year of Quang Thai (1397), it was changed to Hai Dong Highway; During the Ming Dynasty (1407-1428) was Nam Sach Palace. In the first year of Thuan Thien (1428), the whole country was divided into 5 religions, Hai Duong belonged to the Dong Dao; In the 7th year of Quang Thuan (1466), it was changed to Nam Sach's lieutenant; In the 10th year of Quang Thuan (1469), it was named Hai Duong, then Hai Duong town. The 12th year of Minh Mang (1831) was named Hai Duong province. January 1968, merged with Hung Yen province to form Hai Hung province. In February 1997, Hai Duong province was re-established, on the basis of separating Hai Hung province into two provinces.

Hai Duong is divided into two regions: hilly and plain.
