At Northern Mariana Islands[1] (or Northern Marianas) are part of the Commonwealth (British community) and are in political union with the United States, which in practice means that it is a territory of that country. The islands are in the Micronesia, between the Japan, at Philippines and palau.

Climate

Tropical maritime; smoothed by northeast winds, small temperature variation. Dry season from December to June, rainy season from July to October. The hurricane season lasts several months and starts in late August or early September.

The main entrance to the Marianas is through Saipan. There are frequent flights between the Japan, South Korea and Taiwan but it may be necessary to connect to Guam or in one of the countries mentioned.

There is a regular daily ferry service operated by the Tinian Dynasty Hotel & Casino from Saipan until Tinian and vice versa.

There are many World War II bunkers in the archipelago, which are now part of the "Pacific War Parks" and belong to the US National Park Service. In the far north of Saipan you can visit memorials to Japanese soldiers and civilians, who fearing being captured by American forces committed suicide by jumping off the cliffs into the ocean.
