Churches: - The region is known for some very interesting Roman Catholic churches.
- Paoay. UNESCO World Heritage Site Since 1993.
- St. William's Cathedral, in Laoag City. Known for its bell tower.
- St. Monica Church, in Sarrat. The largest church in the entire Ilocos region.
- Bacarra. Destroyed by a strong earthquake in 1983, it was rebuilt in 1984.
