Irondequoit is a city in the Greater Rochester-Area in Western New York.

getting there

By plane

In the south of Rochester lies the Greater Rochester International Airport (ROC), from which you can follow every day directly Chicago and Minneapolis - occasionally after Detroit - can fly.

By train

From Rochester you can come with Amtrak you can go straight to Buffalo and Niagara Falls, as well as about Syracuse, Utica, Schenectady, Poughkeepsie and Yonkers to New York City drive.

By bus

The closest Greyhound- Station is in Rochester; from there you can, among other things, to Buffalo, Syracuse and Binghamton drive.

In the street

Rochester and Irondequoit are just north of the toll road Interstate 90, the Buffalo With Syracuse, Utica, Schenectady and Albany connects. From the south, i.e. H. of Corning and Elmira, both cities can be reached directly from Interstate Highway 390. If you are coming from New York City is the shortest way to get through it New Jersey and Pennsylvania to Binghamton, and from there over Elmira.

  • Irondequoit Pioneer House, 1280 Titus Ave, between Oakview Dr and Kings Hwy. Tel.: 1 716-266-5144. The hut built around 1830 by an early settler. The hut has repeatedly changed location and is now on the property of the local town hall.Open: Sun 2-4 p.m. (May to September only), and by appointment.
  • Seneca Park Zoo, 2222 St. Paul Street, driveway at Collingwood Street, on the east bank of the Genesee River. Not the most exciting zoo in New York State, but some interesting animals such as B. an orangutan family, arctic wolves, hyenas and African elephants. Children find the river otters, penguins, sea lions, kangaroos and the two clownfish (Nemo!) The most entertaining. Further z. T. exotic large animals such as a tiger, leopard, polar bear, reindeer, sloth and some monkeys.Open: daily 10 a.m. - 4 p.m., from April to October until 5 p.m. Closed on the 1st Saturday in June.Price: Entry $ 8 (Seniors $ 7, Children 3-11 $ 5), cheaper November-March.

Closed from October to April.Price: Entry $ 21.99 (children $ 17.99), unlimited use of all rides. Adults can get one for $ 7.50 Spectator Pass that does not include use of the rides.
