Urban centers
- Amnat Charoen (อำนาจเจริญ) - Small and quiet town with various attractions.
- Chaiyaphum (ชัยภูมิ) - Charming and welcoming city, although it is not very touristy.
- Kalasin (กาฬสินธุ์) - Capital of the homonymous province.
- Khon Kaen (ขอนแก่น) - One of the four main cities of Isan with many Buddhist temples, located at the end of the highway starting from Bangkok.
- Maha Sarakham (มหาสารคาม) - It is located in a rice-growing area in the southern Korat plain, straddling the Chi River.
- Roi Et (ร้อยเอ็ด) - Located on a hilly plateau.
- Yasothon (ยโสธร) - City with significant Chinese influence.
