The Parque nacional do Jaú is in the state Amazon, is a rare example of pure Amazon rainforest and is located approx. 220 kilometers from Manaus, it has been part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. Most of the park includes rainforest and consists of dense tropical forest or open forests. A peculiarity: the park has only about one crocodile per square kilometer in all habitats.
