Jueterbog is a city in Lower Flaming in Brandenburg.

In the Middle Ages, Jüterbog was an important trading town with extensive land holdings in the region. After the destruction of the city in the Thirty Years' War, Jüterbog lay down for centuries until the town agreed to accept Prussian soldiers and thus became a garrison town. The military presence not only brought the city, which otherwise did not benefit from industrialization, the long-awaited prosperity, but also good transport links.
Jüterbog survived the Second World War almost unscathed. In the GDR, apart from the garrison, the place remained rural. After the fall of the Wall, the last troops withdrew from Jüterbog in 1994. Today the city is mainly a residential community for commuters to Berlin.

There are various signposted parking facilities in the center. It is about two kilometers from the train station to the market square, but there are also buses to the bus station on the western edge of the old town. There are also buses from there to Zinna Monastery.
Tourist Attractions
Jüterbog has a lovely old town, which was lovingly restored in the years after 1990. In the middle of the old town on the market square is the Gothic one 1 town hall . The brick building was built in the late Middle Ages and expanded again and again. The market square with its cafes, restaurants and shops is also the center of urban life in Jüterbog. In the old town there are also other buildings worth seeing:
2 Nikolaikirche, Nikolaikirchplatz. The Nikolaikirche is one of the largest churches in the region. It was built between the 13th and 16th centuries in Gothic style in place of a previous building that was first mentioned in 1307. Inside, the organ and the winged altar are important. The tower, from which you have a very nice view over the city and the surrounding area, can be visited during opening hours (costs € 2.00 in 2017).Open: Tue-Fri, Sun 13: 00-17: 00, Sat 10: 00-17: 00.
The 3 Church of Our Lady is the second oldest church in Brandenburg. This church has also preserved a valuable baroque organ.
The 4 Monks church is a former brick Gothic monastery church and is used as an event center and library.
Zinna Monastery
The Cistercian monastery Zinna is located in the town of the same name about four kilometers north of Jüterbog. The monastery, founded in 1170, achieved great economic importance in the late Middle Ages. Parts of the monastery are now in good condition. Above all, the church and the New Abbey with the museum can be visited.
