Geography
The republic is located in the western part of the North Caucasus. Most of the area is covered by the foothills and mountain ranges of the Greater Caucasus.
Karachay-Cherkessia borders on the south with Georgia, from the east with Kabardino-Balkaria and Stavropol country, from the north and west with Krasnodar region.
