The Stavropol Region is located in the Caucasus, in the south of the European part Of the Russian Federation. To the north it borders with Rostov region, Kalmykia, from the east with Dagestan, from the south with Chechnya, North Ossetia, Kabardino-Balkaria and Karachay-Cherkessiaand from the west with Krasnodar region.
The Kuban River flows through the Stavropol Krai.
