The district Karoo with the official name Pixley Ka Seme is in the provinceNorthern Cape.

In the North Cape Province is the semi-desert Karoo a plateau at over 1000 m altitude, it is also called Upper Karoo designated. The district described here borders on the provinces North West, Free State and Western Cape as well as to the regions Namakwa, Green Kalahari and Diamantveld.
