The province Northern Cape (German: North Cape, Afrikaans: North Cape) is in the northwest South Africa. It covers almost 30% of the country's area. It borders the Atlantic Ocean to the west and Botswana and Namibia to the north.

- Diamantveld - Area of discovery of the first diamonds in the east of the province
- Kalahari - Part of the great desert is in the northeast part of the province
- Green Kalahari - the one through the Orange River (Orange) coined part of the semi-desert in the north of the province

The north-easternmost province of South Africa is characterized by drought and deserted areas. Only occasionally do you come across larger towns and even these are often just small provincial nests. The people in the province mainly work in the mining industry, with diamonds being the main source of income. Tourism is also gaining in importance and is helping to offset the low income from agriculture, which is threatened by drought.
language
Most of the people in the province speak Afrikaans as their mother tongue. Large parts of the white population also speak English, even if only poorly in some cases. Most blacks speak Setswana.

By plane
Since the province is very large, the plane is a good means of transport if you want to cover long distances. The airports in Kimberley and Upington offer scheduled flights to and from other parts of South Africa Alexander Bay there are sometimes charter flights.
In the street
The North Cape Province is also easily accessible by car. The national roads N1 and N7 lead from Cape Town to the eastern part or along the west coast to Namibia. The N12 and the N14 lead the traveler from Johannesburg / Pretoria to the dry province.
