Some airlines cancel a flight at the last minute because there are not enough passengers to make a profit and pay for fuel etc. and delays are frequent and schedules are not respected. The trip since Kinshasa itself only takes a few hours but you can expect a day late!

By car
The roads to Kindu are all unpaved and generally in poor condition.
It is possible to reach Kindu from Bukavu by unpaved road. This road is in very bad condition with quagmires especially in rainy season.
On a boat
The city of Kindu is crossed by the Congo River. It is possible to reach Kindu by river from Ubundu. From Kisangani to Ubundu by train. There are Government fast canoes, steel boats and whaling boats (wooden boats with a lifespan of less than three years) which operate on the Kindu-Ubundu reach, which is more than 400 kilometers long.
Circulate
The city center is located west of the river. The districts on the other side of the river are accessible by canoe. There are not many vehicles in town, the streets are tarmac.
