Climate

In summer the temperature can be as high as 35-40 degrees and in winter the temperature drops to 15 degrees. Holiday trips to Crete in Finland start in mid-April, when rains are possible, but the sun is not yet reindeering too hot.

Crete has two international airports. The larger of these is in Heraklion and the smaller in Chania.[1]

By boat

From Athens there are ferry connections to Crete.

Move

You are mainly on the coast of the island. Locals don’t really care about speed limits, and sometimes overtaking can be dangerous. In the city center, driving is not suitable for the faint of heart, but there is little congestion on the main road from one city to another.

Getting around by bus is a good and affordable way to travel from one city to another.

Greek is spoken in Crete, but English is also spoken on the coasts in particular. In some holiday resorts and restaurants, transactions are partly successful in Finnish as well.
