The Cuban state-owned airline Cubana flies from Madrid, London and Paris to Havana and from Madrid and Paris to Santiago de Cuba. Air France from Paris, Iberia from Madrid and Aeroflot from Moscow. Cubana flies intercontinental flights on Iliyshin's IL96 wide-body aircraft acquired in 2006-2007. In domestic traffic, the new Tupolev TU204 aircraft and slightly older Jak-42 and ATR aircraft are used.

Price level

The price level is slightly cheaper compared to Finland, but quite expensive compared to other "tourist destinations".

Many prices are for tourists CUC (pesos convertible), but also national pesos (CUP, pesos cubano, Moneda Nacional) can be paid and exchanged. Do not pay the CUP price in CUC nests as the exchange rate CUC> CUP is 1:24 and in the other direction 1:25. Offer to pay first with CUP nests if the price is in doubt.

The local hostels are called casa particulares and are identified by the blue logo and text Arrendador Divisa. Prices outside Havana are 20-25 CUC per night, breakfast 4-5 CUC and food 8-10 CUC. Hunger certainly does not come as a surprise.
