It is located in Kąśna Dolna courtthat belonged to Ignacy Paderewski, pianist, composer, statesman (1860-1941). It was the Polish house of the master in the years 1897-1903. Currently, it is the only surviving property of a great Pole in the world. In 1990, it housed the Paderewski Museum and the seat of the Paderewski Center Tarnów – Kąśna Dolna.

The manor house dates back to the beginning of the 19th century and is surrounded by a historic park with an area of ​​16 ha, with a pond, with a wide variety of trees and shrubs, and remnants of old trees with natural monuments. The interior of the property has been recreated as it was in the times of its owner. Recreated: living room, master's room, Chinese room, bedroom, lounges (classicist and neo-baroque).

The characters of the master are devoted to two photographic exhibitions: “From Małopolska towards independent Poland. Ignacy Jan Paderewski. History - Tradition - Memory ”and“ Paderewski in California ”.

Ignacy Paderewski's passion was growing grapes. His hobby, born during his residence in Kąśna Dolna, was fully realized in the United States, where in Paso Robles, in central California, he grew grapes, almonds and various varieties of fruit trees on two ranches.

There are also former manorial buildings in the village: an old distillery, a mill, a small hydroelectric power plant and court stables.

Paderewski Center

The Paderewski Center was established in 1990 on the basis of the Tarnów Music Society. For many years, the Society referred to the great musical traditions of the city. The main goals of the Center are to popularize classical music and to promote the memory of Paderewski. They are held here, among others concerts and music workshops. From 1976, i.e. from the moment when the Society started its activity, it has become a significant organizer of cultural life in Tarnów. The Society organized chamber music concerts, with particular emphasis on early music. The Society planned to create a cultural center under the patronage of I. J. Paderewski. Such a place was Kąśna Dolna, where the pianist lived for 5 years at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. In 1990, the Society was transformed into the Paderewski Center Tarnów - Kąśna Dolna. The institution continues the aims of the Society. The mansion houses concert halls and museum rooms - the rooms have been restored to the appearance they had in Paderewski's times. On the basis of the former court quarters, it was possible to build a House of Creative Work - a hotel. The facilities are located in a historic landscape park. In 1992, the Center joined the nationwide celebrations devoted to the return of IJ Paderewski's mortal remains to free Poland. In 1993, cooperation was established with the Museum of IJ Paderewski and Polish Emigration in America, a branch of the National Museum in Warsaw. classical music fame from Poland and abroad. An extremely important part of the institution's activity is the education of the young generation of musicians - hence numerous open-air workshops, music workshops and master classes. A great event for the Paderewski Center was the "X Musical Meetings at Paderewski" in 1995, during which the turnout of music lovers exceeded all expectations. Then, among others, were enthusiastically received Piotr Paleczny and Vadim Brodski.

In 2000, important anniversaries were celebrated - 140 years of Paderewski's birth and 10 years of the Paderewski Center.

In 2015, the Paderewski Center moved its seat from Tarnów to Kąśna Dolna and adopted the current name of the Paderewski Center in Kąśna Dolna. The Paderewski Center is the most dynamic cultural institution of this profile in the region. At the same time, as a concert center and a memorial site for I. J. Paderewski, it is recognized all over Poland and abroad.

Nearest neighborhood

Near Ciężkowice, the seat of the commune, on the edge of which there is an inanimate nature reserve "Petrified City". This is the biggest attraction of the town. It is visited by following the signs of the blue trail, which starts at the parking lot by the road towards Zborowice. The basic route takes about 3 hours. Monumental rocks take rare shapes, including: "Tower", "Pyramid", "Witch", "Mushroom", "Eagle". Most of the rocks are related to some legends, with some even more than one. One of the rocks was named after I.J., a composer and patriot of merit for Poland. Paderewski, whose manor house is located in the neighboring town of Kąśna Dolna. One of the rock outcrops is called Grunwald to commemorate the 500th anniversary of the Battle of Grunwald in which the inhabitants of Ciężkowice took part. The plaque was founded in 1910 by Ignacy Paderewski himself.

Tourist information

The museum is closed on Mondays, from Tuesday to Friday it is open from 9.00 to 15.00, Saturdays and Sundays from 12.00 to 18.00. The cost of a normal ticket is PLN 6, a concession ticket PLN 4.
