Luderitz is a small port town in southernNamibia, located on the South Atlantic. Lüderitz is one of the larger cities in the country and is characterized by German in the center.

Lüderitz is about 350 kilometers west of Keetmanshoop and can be reached via the B4 national road.

By boat

When entering Lüderitz with a sailing yacht from the south, please note that the winds can increase strongly from Diaz Point. Registration on VHF channel 16, Arbeitsfunk Kanal 12. The buoys in the channel are illuminated at night. The 1 Lüderitz Yacht Club(26 ° 38 ′ 37 ″ S15 ° 9 ′ 21 ″ E) is on the eastern harbor basin.

  • Wild horses. About 5 km from the small village Out is the artificial water point Garub, where the wild horses living here can often be observed (especially in the morning hours). A short slope leads from the B4 national road to a covered observation post. (Coming from Lüderitz on the left side. When you reach the camping site "Klein-Aus Vista" you have driven approx. 5 km too far!).
