Laâyoune, El Aaiún Where El-Ayoun (in Arab : العيون [Al ʿAīūn], literally "the eyes" or "the springs") is the most important city of Western Sahara. It is controlled and administered by the Morocco since 1975 but claimed as capital by the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic.
