Viverone Lake is a lake of the Piedmont.

Geographical notes

It is a lake of glacial origin, the third in Piedmont by surface, is located at about 230 m a.s.l. it has a perimeter of approximately 10.5 km and a maximum depth of 70 m. It extends for 3.4 km along the north-south route and 2.3 km along the east-west route.

Background

It is one of the few sites in Piedmont with evidence of Bronze Age pile dwellings present mainly in the western area of ​​the lake, and has been included by UNESCO in the "Prehistoric pile-dwelling sites around the Alps".
