Le Lauzet-Ubaye is a village located in the department of Alpes de Haute Provence, in the region Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, in the South-East of France.
Understand
The village of Lauzet-Ubaye marks the entry into the Ubaye valley, where its main stream, the Ubaye river, has its source at Saint-Paul-sur-Ubaye.
At the end of the 1950s, the village absorbed Ubaye, located below 780 meters altitude, level selected for the impoundment of the Serre-Ponçon dam. Ubaye is swallowed up and all that remains is the cemetery.
