Libourne is a city of Gironde, in the South West of France.
Established at the confluence of the Isle and the Dordogne, this former Anglo-Aquitaine bastide was founded in the 13th century by Roger de Leyburn. Strong of nearly 25,000 inhabitants, it belongs to the metropolitan area of Bordeaux.
