Mömbris is a market in Bald ground.

The supposedly high population should not hide the fact that Mömbris is a very rural place. The high number of inhabitants is due to the fact that numerous formerly independent communities were incorporated into Mömbris.
Most of the districts of Mömbris are in the valley of the Kahl. It's upstream Niedersteinbach, Mömbris (in turn consisting of tens of scattered settlements), Canteen buttocks, Schimborn and Koenigshofen a.d.Kahl. To the north lies in a side valley Dörnsteinbach, lie south Hemsbach, Reichenbach and Daxberg.
The place is a curiosity Hollow. This place was divided by the state road for centuries: the larger northern half belonged to Mömbris, the smaller southern half formed the independent municipality of Hohl. Although Hohl has now been incorporated into Mömbris, the district boundary still runs right through the town.
Another curiosity has unfortunately been omitted due to a border adjustment: the country road to Mömbris ran for centuries on a short section through Hessian territory and thus formed the one well known to motorists Hessenkurvewhich is a hotspot for accidents. By adjusting the border, the local soccer club was able to play a home game for the first time in its history, because the soccer field was previously also in Hesse.

The Kahlgrundbahn runs through the Kahltal and connects Mömbris and its neighboring towns well. There are a total of 5 train stations: 1 Niedersteinbach train station, 2 Mömbris-Strötzbach train station, 3 Mömbris-Mensengesäß train station, 4 Schimborn station and 5 Königshofen station.
