Moerlenbach is located in the Weschnitz valley in the southwestern tip of Hesse.

Since December 31, 2009, the districts of Bonsweiher, Ober-Liebersbach, Ober-Mumbach, Vöckelsbach and Weiher belong to the municipality of Mörlenbach. Together with these districts, the community has 10,300 inhabitants.
