The A7 Mühlkreis motorway is an Austrian motorway that runs through Linz across the Danube to the north and then further east and then east up Unterweitersdorf where it merges into the Mühlviertel expressway S10. In the European context, it forms a section of the main axis of Europastraße 55. It connects Linz as a section Ceske Budejovice (České Budějovice) and Prague.
The length of the motorway is almost 30 km.
background
The highway was put into operation in 1982 in its current length. The continuation to the Czech border takes place as the Mühlviertel expressway S10; the plan to continue the motorway was abandoned for ecological reasons, among other things. On the Czech side, the motorway is supposed to be Dálnice 3 connect.
Regions
particularities
Like (almost) all Austrian motorways, the "Mühlkreis Autobahn" is also vignette required! This also applies to the Mühlviertel expressway S10. However, the toll requirement for the new bridge over the Danube, which is currently under construction, was lifted in December 2019. The mileage count (and the counting of the connection points at the same time) begins at the Linz junction.
traffic
In the city of Linz, the partially enclosed route is one of the most heavily frequented streets in Austria.
