Ceske Budejovice (Czech: České Budějovice, tschäskää budʲäjowitzä, "Bohemian Budweis", spoken: , IPA: [ˈʧɛskɛː bʊɟɛjɔvɪʦɛ]) is a city in Czech Republic. It is the economic center of South Bohemia and is located on the north-south euro corridor (Dresden - Prague - Budweis - Linz).

By train
1 railway stationTrain connections to and from Prague there every hour. The travel time is 2:40 hours. There is also a train connection to and from around every 2 hours Linz.
From Bavaria there is a possibility with the Alex bis Pilsen and from there by express train. This works best with the Bavaria-Bohemia ticket (approx. € 35 for five people, only available in Germany).
Another, faster way to travel is from Munich via Salzburg and Linz.
By bus
Of Prague From here, the bus is the easiest, cheapest and fastest way (even faster than the train) to get into the city. The buses leave regularly from the Prague bus stations Florenc, Na Knízecí and Roztyly and cost 154 Kč (June 2007). The journey usually takes 2½ - 3 hours.
The hub for bus transport is that in Ceske Budejovice Mercury Center, a two-story shopping center with a bus station on the roof, located outside the city center, 300 meters from the train station.

Ceske Budejovice is on the Europastrasse 55 (E55) leading to Autobahn 3 (D3) is expanded. From direction Prague you arrive via the E55, which branches off from the D1 motorway about 30 km to Prague. Also from direction Linz take the E55, which is the continuation of the Austrian B125. Coming from Vienna you follow the European road E 49 via Stockerau-Horn-Schrems and Třeboň.

DPM České Budějovice offers a dense network of bus connections with short intervals. A single trip (up to 60 minutes) costs CZK 16 at the machine and CZK 25 from the bus driver; a 24-hour card 50 CZK. There is a ticket machine at many stops, you can only pay with coins here.
Taxis can be found in the city center in front of the town hall and at the train station.

- Lipno nad Vltavou (60 km south) with Aktiv Park Lipno.
- Hluboká nad Vltavou (German: Frauenberg, 11 km north, R105) - nearby small town with the Tudor style castle Frauenberg and an old church. You can also use the path along the Vltava (about 10 km).
- Holašovice (German: Holaschowitz, 20 km west) - a small village that has been placed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
- Třeboň (German: Wittingau, 26 km east, R34) - a picturesque town with a castle, the Regent brewery, lakes and a pretty town square. The journey by bus through the lovely landscape takes about three quarters of an hour.
- Český Krumlov (German: Krumau, 27 km southwest, R39) - UNESCO World Heritage Site and a very popular tourist destination. Buses leave the Mercury Center about every half hour and take around 45 minutes. The train is slower and slightly more expensive, but the variant that is much more scenic.
