getting there

By plane

By train

Maintal has two train stations. The bigger one of them Main valley east, is located between the districts of Dörnigheim and Hochstadt and is also a hub for local public transport. The regional express on the Frankfurt Hbf-Würzburg route and the regional train on the Frankfurt Süd-Aschaffenburg route stop here. The regional train also stops at the smaller station Main Valley West south of the district of Bischofsheim. This is not connected to the local traffic, so that you may have to walk from there.

By bus

In the street

Maintal owns the A66 the connection points Symbol: AS 34 Maintal-Dörnigheim and Symbol: AS 33 Maintal-Bischofsheim.

In rush hour traffic, especially in the morning between 6 a.m. and 9 a.m., you should be extremely careful, because all the traffic rolls in the direction of Frankfurt through these two exits. As a result, traffic backs up several kilometers from these exits onto the motorway. Those who know the place routinely stand on the hard shoulder and wait patiently until they make it to the exit. For those who are unfamiliar with the area and who do not expect this, this situation can be extremely dangerous, especially the sudden braking to zero at the end of the traffic jam. By the way, pushers are absolutely not welcome.

From Bischofsheim there is a ferry to Rumpenheim.
