mobility

Map of Manacor

Manacor is a bigger city, especially since many of the attractions are also on the outskirts. If you really only want to explore the city center and come by bus or train, then you can get around easily on foot. If you want to see a little more, then you should be able to fall back on a car, that's the only way to see everything.

Tourist Attractions

The most important sight is certainly downtown Manacor. It is designed almost exclusively as a pedestrian zone and has retained its charm not least because the large tourist flows have not yet reached Manacor. The church is also located here Nuestra Senyora dels Dolors. With its almost 80 meter high tower, it is an eye-catcher. It is built in the neo-Gothic style and dates from the 19th century. This has always been the place of the main church in Manacor. So it is a new building.

Hospitalet Vell prehistoric village

An important sight is the Hospitalet Vell settlement. It is an archaeological site where a village was excavated that dates back to around 1000 BC. There are also later finds that indicate settlement around the turn of the millennium. You can visit the excavations. Many exhibits are in the Historical museum issued by Manacor. The excavations are located in the south of Manacor and can only be reached by car.

activities

shop

There is a market every day and you can stock up on groceries here. All agricultural products in the area are offered. The big weekly market is on Monday morning. As in the well-known markets, everything your heart desires is offered here. From toys to fake bags. A weekly market as you know it from Mallorca.

At the eastern end of the village (towards Son Severa) is LIDL, at the western end of the village (towards Palma) there is ALDI.
