Background
Founded around the 15th century, villa le Sorti and villa Marliano were built here. In the 1960s, the Empoli-Ginestra Fiorentina section of the main road was built Florence-Pisa-Livorno.

- 1 Villa le Sorti, Via Antonio del Pollaiolo, 21, ☎ 39 335 8371496 (villa), 39 345 8837711 (farmhouse), @[email protected]. Completed at the end of the 15th century at the same time as the walls of Malmantile. Over time it became a convent, then an aristocratic villa with the addition of the residual private chapel of the old convent. Surrounded by 57 hectares of land including a forest and olive groves, it is located on the hills of Chianti Florentine and therefore was in an excellent strategic position. For this reason, many exchanges of goods took place along the road and it was a place where the brigands of the area looted the wagons coming and going to Florence. From this derives the name "le Sorti" because the merchants who passed by relied on destiny, hoping to arrive unscathed and with all the goods at their destination.
