Urban centers
- Belo Horizonte - The state capital of Minas Gerais.
- Brumadinho - It takes its name from the nearby ancient settlement of Brumado Velho.
- Congonhas - The site is located there World Heritage Site by Bom Jesus do Congonhas.
- Conselheiro Lafaiete - The city promotes festivals and exhibitions of visual arts, entertainment, music, literature and crafts.
- Contagem - Predominantly industrial city with some noteworthy buildings such as the Casa de Cacos, the Capela Imaculada Conceição and Santa Edwiges and the Igreja Matriz de São Gonçalo.

- Ouro Preto (in Italian Black gold) - The greatest example of Baroque art in Brazil. The city appears in the list UNESCO of the World Heritage Sites.
- Serro - Known for its cultural richness, colonial influence and its traditional cheese.
