Understand
The Santiago Metro is the metropolitan railway system, of Santiago de Chile, and one of three that exist in Chile, along with Biotrén of Conception and to Merval of Valparaiso. It is the main axis of the integrated public transport system of Santiago, known as Transantiago.
Currently (2016), it has 100 stations spread over 5 lines, lines 1, 2, 4, 4a and 5, in addition to two lines are under construction. It has a total length of 103 km of route.
It is the main means of public transport in the Chilean capital and is the reference point for many places in Santiago.

Way to pay
The form of payment is a contactless electronic card called Beep card!, this card is both sold at the ticket offices of the Metro stations, as well as places called Beep centers!, in these places you can also charge a balance to said cards, the value of said cards is $ 1250 and a minimum charge of $ 1000, you can also buy cargo in associated shops called Beep points!.
The card beep! It serves as a means of payment not only in the Santiago Metro, but also with urban buses, popularly known as micros, both are part of Santiago's integrated public transport system, known as Transantiago.
At the metro ticket offices, you can also buy tickets but these only serve the metro and do not allow the integrated fare with the buses.
As a Bip! Card, the students use the National Student Card, which allows them to have a reduced rate, in addition, older adults have an agreement that allows them a reduced rate for only buying tickets and is not integrated with the bus system.

Schedules
Trains run between approximately 6:00 and 23:30, depending on the station where these schedules are located may vary, for more information consult the Santiago metro website. ([1]).
Express routes
The lines 2,4, 4th Y 5, between 6:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m., and between 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. in the afternoon, the trains are divided between red and green routes, stopping only at the stations belonging to said route, the stations called "common station" stop the trains of both routes.

University of Chile Station

Located in the center of the capital, on line 1, as its name indicates near the Central House of the University of Chile, its exits on Avenida Libertador Bernardo O'Higgins (popularly known as Alameda) and Paseo Ahumada. Inside the station are the pictorial work Visual memory of a nation of the Painter Mario Toral, also in this station is the painting Urban interior by the painter Hernán Miranda.
La Moneda Station

Part of line 1, La Moneda station, named for its proximity to the Palacio de La Moneda, this station stands out because there are hyper-realistic murals by the Chilean-Spanish painter Guillermo Muñoz Vera, the set of paintings called Chile today, and there are fourteen works that show landscapes of Chile.

Quinta Normal Station

Quinta Normal station, located near the park of the same name, nearby museums, hospitals and cultural centers are located. This station contains the work Latin verb of the painter Roberto Matta, this work made in ceramics, in 1996 and donated to the Chilean state, which first exhibited in the Plaza de la Constitución, then in the Museum of Fine Arts and then the Santiago airport, and from 2008 to reach its current location at Quinta Normal station.
