The Millstätter See is an inland lake in Carinthia. It is located north of the Drautal, near Spittal an der Drau.

The three largest towns Lake bottom, Millstatt and Dobriach are located on the north shore of the lake. The five neighboring communities also include Radenthein, Ferndorf and Spittal an der DrauThe latter two have no closed settlements on the lake shore.

The main tributary of the lake is the Riegerbach, which flows into the east at Döbriach. A total of about 30 streams flow into the lake, most of them on the north bank. The only outflow of the lake is at the west end near Seebach, in the municipality of Seeboden, with the name Lieser.
