History
Miłostowo is a village with a very old birth certificate. Founded in 1257 under the Średzki law, it belonged to the monastery of St. Paradyż. In 1439, together with the Monks, it became the property of Sędziwoj Ostroróg, the voivode of Poznań. Later, the owners of the village changed frequently. At the end of the 18th century, Miłostowo consisted of a mercenary village (serfdom) and a farm. In 1791, Krzysztof Unrug sold the lands they had occupied and the manor farm to the Miłostów population, giving the village rights and the system of a Olęder settlement. It was one of the few cases of replacing the serfdom system of villages with the Olęder system, without settling new inhabitants.
Established in 1896, the Evangelical parish in Miłostowo consisted of 767 souls from Miłostów and its vicinity. The village's buildings are concentrated along the road running along the east-west axis.
Historical monuments
Most of the houses come from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. They are brick ridge buildings. There are also a couple of half-timbered houses (including no. 37, 38 and 40). In the western part of the village there is a neo-Gothic church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, erected in 1902 as an Evangelical church, now a branch of the parish in Kwilcz. The tower is covered with a small cupola in place of the original one, pulled down in 1980. The interior is new. Next to the church there is a similar old pastor's house, also from 1902. On the hill north of the village there is a former Evangelical cemetery, established in the 19th century, currently under the management of the Catholic church.
A characteristic element is the water intake tower built in 1986.
