Możdżanów - Możdżanów

Możdżanów is a village of about 350 inhabitants, located in Greater Poland Voivodeshipin the southwestern part Ostrów County and in the northwest of the Sosno commune.

Information

The village is situated on the edge of forests, north of a complex of fish ponds, in "Barycz Valley" Landscape Park. It has been known since 1739. There is a water complex right next to the village Możdżanowskie ponds.

Drive

It is located approximately 30 km southwest of the center Ostrów Wielkopolski and is located near the district road Bogdaj - A pine tree. You should turn from it in the village Szklarka Śląska.

  • It is located in Możdżanowo hunting manor, built in 1890-1902 for Charles Neumann. In 1935, a rectangular, four-storey tower with a wooden gallery was added. The manor house was a temporary seat Wojciech Lipski. Currently private property.
  • South-west of the village along the blue trail nature monument "Dąb Jan" with a circumference of more than 867 centimeters.[1]
  • Forester's house - was occupied by the administrator of the Możdżanów estate. It was built in 1910. Later it became a forester's apartment. In the years 1970-1980 it was renovated with a newer entrance annex in place of a wooden porch. This is where she was born Janina Szymkowiak, Sister Sancja from the Congregation of the Seraphim. A modest, quiet person, she helped the poor, unemployed and prisoners of war. The burden of forced labor during the occupation led to tuberculosis and death. She was beatified in 2002 and two years later proclaimed the Patroness of the Polish Romanists.
