Möhringen on the Danube is a climatic health resort and today a district of Tuttlingen. It is located in the Obere Donau Nature Park Baden-Wuerttemberg.
background
The year of the first documentary mention is 882, since 1308 Möhringen had town and market rights.
The incorporation after Tuttlingen took place in 1973, administratively the geographically completely independent place is thus a district of the district town just six kilometers away. In terms of area (41.12 km², two thirds of which are forested), Möhringen is significantly larger than Tuttlingen itself.
That is also known Danube infiltration between Möhringen and Immendingen: The water of the Danube seeps into a karst water system (a huge cave system) and only emerges to the south about twelve kilometers away in the Aachtopf on the outskirts of the village Ah out again.
