Nayarit it is a state in the Mexican coast on the Pacific of the Mexico.

Geographical notes
It borders to the north with the states of Sinaloa, Zacatecas and Durango, east and south with the state of Jalisco. The "Islas Tres Marias" in the Pacific Ocean are also part of the state.
Background
The territory of Nayarit was one of the last to be admitted as a federated state of Mexico, i.e. on January 26, 1917.
