  • 1 Hall (Stadshalle) (Next to the town hall) – World Heritage logotype This medieval Gothic-style building, which dates back to 1280, was completely destroyed during the First World War and rebuilt in 1921-1923 in the style and with original materials. The most remarkable part is the belfry, top of 35 m. Classified in 1938, it was registered in 1999 at the Unesco World Heritage.
  • Saint-Laurent Tower (Sint-Laurenstoren)  – Known locally under the name of "Duvetorre", is the vestige of an old church of the XIVe century. Transformed into a fortified castle, it served as an observation tower and then as a powder magazine. The bombings of the First World War reduced it to a third of its original height.
  • Justice of the Peace building Langestraat – Town hall before 1914. It was restored in 1924. Above the entrance gate there was until 1988 a Madonna and Child made by the sculptor Pierre-Jean Braecke. It has been replaced by a copy.
  • 2 Monument to King Albert I Logo indicating a wikipedia link – Designed in 1938 by architect Julien De Ridder and sculptor Karel Aubroeck in the shape of a rotunda (30 m in diameter), in the center of which is the equestrian statue of King Albert Ie. The roof can be accessed by a staircase or an elevator. From the terrace, there is a beautiful view over the Yser plain.
  • Fishing port  – third in Belgium after those ofOstend and of Zeebrugge
  • Minque (Vismijn)  – This fish market, where fish is sold at auction, dates from 1952 and was enlarged in 1972.
  • By Ganzepoot ((nl) crow's feet)  – Impressive complex of locks that connects the Yser channel to six shipping lanes.
  • Yser Memorial ((nl) IJzergedenkteken)  – Inaugurated in 1930, this monument, erected near one of the locks of the Ganzepoot (Iepersluis), is a work of sculptor Pierre-Jean Braecke. It represents a woman standing on a high column. She turns away from the German invader from the east and holds the crown of Belgium in her hands. The monument is quartered by four figures of soldiers, one blind, one wounded, one sick and one able-bodied, who symbolize resistance to the enemy.

Lighthouse
  • 3 Nieuport Lighthouse Logo indicating a wikipedia linkLogo indicating a link to the wikidata element (located at the mouth of the Yser) – The current lighthouse, top of 24 m, dates from 1949. Striped in red and white, it is easily recognizable from afar. There has been no guardian since 1963. Its operation is now ensured by an electronic remote control.
  • Nature reserve "De IJzermonding" (The reserve is accessible by parking at Halvemaanstraat or by taking the picturesque ferry that connects Nieuwpoort-Bad to the right bank of the Yser.) – inaugurated in 2003, it has 135 Ha. It constitutes a rare biotope of dunes, schorres and slikkes. In the northern part of the reserve is a lighthouse which is an emblematic monument of Nieuwpoort.
  • Marina (Eurojachthaven)  – Created in 1961, is located downstream from the fishing port. In total, it can accommodate 2 000 yachts.
  • Double boom (at the mouth of the Yser)
  • Wind goddess  – Statue of Antoon Luyckx at the foot of the pier.
  • Searching for Utopia (In Search of Utopia)  – Monument created by Jan Fabre, depicting a man riding a giant tortoise facing the sea.

Seaside architecture

Nieuwpoort-Bad preserves some examples of seaside architecture.

  • "White Residence"  – Built in 1924 in Art Deco style
  • "Villa Crombez"  – Built in 1923 in Norman style which stand on the dike.

The giant Jan Turpin
  • Sint-Bernardusfeesten (Saint-Bernard celebrations)  – organized in honor of the patron saint of Nieuwpoort-Bad, last three days in August. They bring together many Saint Bernard dogs from all over the country and even beyond the borders. The bronze statue of a Saint Bernard dog that decorates the Hendrikaplein next to the tourist office commemorates the event.
  • Goodplanet Channel Race Logo indicating a link to the website – annual regatta at the beginning of July by sailboat.
  • Procession of Giants Logo indicating timetables held every two years on the second Sunday in July.. – The highlight of the procession is the giant Jan Turpin, named after the mayor of Nieuport who supported the siege of 1489. It dates from 1963 and, with its 10,60 m, it is the largest carried giant in Europe. It takes 24 carriers to move it.
