New brunswick (in French: Nouveau-Brunswick; in English: New Brunswick) is one of the Atlantic Provinces of Canada, and it is the only province in the country that is constitutionally bilingual. Its provincial capital is Fredericton. Statistics Canada estimates that the provincial population in 2008 was 751,527; Most are English-speaking, but there is a large French-speaking minority (32%), mainly of Akkadian origin.
