Oberndorf am Neckar is a city in Black Forest in Germany.

The first human settlements go back to the Celts and Alemanni. The place was first mentioned in documents in 782 AD. In 1251 AD. the town was finally founded by the Lords of Teck. The Augustinian monks, who have been living here since the Middle Ages, built in the 18th century. here a late baroque four-wing complex with church and convent. However, this soon passed into royal possession, so that here from the early 19th century AD. the Königlich Württembergische rifle factory was housed. From this, some companies in the German armaments industry developed, which are still the main branch of the economy today.
