Background
The city was first mentioned in documents in 787. In the shadow of the Hohentwiel fortress, the village has remained a quiet place in the rural area of Hegau. After the connection with the railway and the establishment of production companies. Since 1956 Singen has been allowed to define itself as a large city in the district.

The city is reached by the A81 with the AS41 and AS42 junctions which connect the western suburbs of Singen. There are also good connections via the B33 to Constance and via the B34 a Radolfzell is Gottmadingen.

- 1 Singen station. Singen is sometimes very difficult to reach by train from other parts of Germany. This is because the Singen-Stuttgart railway line is still on a single track. As a result, regional and long-distance trains waste time a Stuttgart, which leads to very long waiting times. The connections from Switzerland are much better.

From 915, the fortress was built on nearby Hohentwiel which has changed its owner several times over the course of history, however, it was never conquered, it was sold without a fight until the year 1801. Today, the great ruin of the fortress is a popular destination and allows you to explore the various parts of the castle and enjoy a beautiful view of Singen.
- 4 Scheffelbrücke. It is a 20 meter long stone bridge over the Radolfzell Aach. The bridge was built in 1923, during the period of hyperinflation of the Weimar Republic (1918-1924) and cost 1,520,940,901,926,024 Marks, as reported on an inscription. It is therefore considered "the most expensive bridge in the world".
