The East of Jujuy Province is a very densely populated, humid area, which is located in the transition area between the subtropical cloud forests, the Andes Gorges (Quebradas) and Argentine Chaco is located.
The capital San Salvador de Jujuy, which is in the area, is a well-known cultural center where you can still feel the Indian roots of the culture of the region.

San Salvador de Jujuy, San Pedro and Ledesma are connected to the rest of Argentina with good bus connections. San Salvador has an airport, but only a few connections (e.g. to Buenos Aires) having.

Depending on the altitude, the summers are warm to hot and the winters are generally mild. Rainy season in summer, winters are dry. Spring and autumn are most pleasant for traveling to the area.
