Oudtshoorn is a city in the Western Cape Province in South Africawhich also became known as the center of ostrich breeding.

The city of Oudtshoorn lies in the Little Karoo between Outeniqua Mountains on the coast and the Swartbergen in the North. In the semi-desert region, sheep are bred in addition to ostriches.
