What see

The Upper Antelope Canyon
Horseshoe Bend
  • 1 Antelope Canyon, Coppermine Rd. (Navajo Route 20) (The office is located 3 miles south of Page), 1928 698-2808. Ecb copyright.svgadults $ 6; up to 8 years: free. Access is by guided tour only.. Simple icon time.svgSummer (March-October) from 8am to 5pm. The station is closed from November to February, but the Lower and Upper Antelope Canyon are both open. Antelope Canyon is a "slot canyon", a narrow chasm eroding into the sandstone. Years of water and sand have rounded the edges to form curves and flowing shapes in the rock. Photographers love the beauty and unique shapes and lighting conditions of the canyons. Flash floods still occur in the canyon and can sometimes cause up to several months of closure. Since 1997 the area has only been accessible with permission as it is now a Navajo Tribal Park.
  • 2 Lake Powell. It is a "hot-spot" destination with its stunning scenery and welcoming environment. The lake caters for all travelers with secluded spots for relaxation and camping and deeper waters for boating, tubing, and jet skis. Lake Powell is also a gateway to many world famous attractions such as the Rainbow Bridge in Utah.
  • 3 The Horseshoe Bend. Horseshoe Bend is the name of a horseshoe-shaped meander of the Colorado River near the town of Page. The curve is known locally as "King Bend". It is slightly downstream of the Glen Canyon Dam and Lake Powell within the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, approximately 6km south of Page. Accessible via a 1.2km hike from US Route 89, it can be seen from the steep cliff above. According to Google's terrain maps, the view is 4,200 feet above sea level and the Colorado River is 3,200 feet above sea level, making it a breathtaking 1,000-foot drop.
  • 4 Glen Canyon Dam. Glen Canyon Dam is the second tallest dam in the country. The visitor center, with numerous interesting exhibits and views, is just off the road right next to the river bridge. There is a guided tour of the dam, unlike most other dams. You enter the tour by going down to the top of the dam. Then go down through the dam and see the Colorado River and finally the generator room.
