- Steep granite walls, with a height of 1 000 m stand on either side of the valley.

Circulate
By plane
To come to Yosemite National Park, the nearest airport is Fresno then that of San Francisco.
By car
- 4 roads allow you to reach Yosemite Valley, and all of them are admirable in themselves and are already worth the trip.
- Please note that entry into the park is not free (approximately 20 $ for a motorbike and its two passengers, valid for one week).
- No gas station in the park, be prepared.
- 1 Route 120 from the west – From Oakdale. This is the fastest route to come from the west area (Bay Area) and north-west (Sacramento). This road 120 being a little steep, the motorhomes and the caravans should prefer to take the road n ° 140 by its lower altitude, especially in winter with the snow.
- 2 Route 140 from the west – By Mariposa and Merced. This route mainly crosses the Merced River Canyon in the Yosemite Valley and is the most beautiful western entrance. Motorhome and other bus traffic tended to block traffic a lot in summer. However, two new bridges limit vehicle length to 45 feet. Many visitors are not yet aware of the existence of these bridges, and believe the road is still closed.
- 3 Route n ° 41 – Since Fresno and Los Angeles/Southern california. Remember to fill up with gasoline at Oakhurst.
- 4 Route 120 from the east – (Tioga Pass Route) from Lee vining. This road is only open from June to October (it all depends on the snow, heavy snowfall that can close the road until the end of July).
