Regions
The Pacific coast extends from the border to Mexico in the north to the border El Salvador in the south. It is known for its dark sandy beaches and, compared to many other beautiful coastlines, is still quite unspoilt and not paved with hotels. Important Guatemalan cities on the Pacific coast are Monterrico, Puerto San José and Puerto Quetzal.
