- Pupusa - A typical dish based on a mixture of corn flour or rice, filled with red beans first boiled then ground, chicharon and local cheese. The dough is stuffed and then cooked on a plate greased with sunflower oil. They are served hot with a side of cabbage marinated in vinegar, onion and spiced tomato sauce.
