Geographical notes
The county is made up of a peninsula washed to the north by the St George channel and to the west and south by the Celtic Sea. It borders the counties of Carmarthenshire to the east and Ceredigion to the northeast. The territory is mainly flat or undulating. To the north the hills rise while the coast is indented with cliffs.

Urban centers
- Haverfordwest - Historic market town, often missing from tourist routes along the coast.
- Abereiddy - Includes the Blue Lagoon: a flooded slate quarry.
- Fishguard - Ferry to Rosslare Strand in Ireland.
- Milford Haven - Represents the second most populous settlement in Pembrokeshire.
- Narberth - East of Haverfordwest are the ruins of a 13th century castle.
- Newport (in Welsh Trefdraeth or Tudraeth) - It is part of the Pembrokeshire Coastal National Park.
- Pembroke (in Welsh Penfro) - King Henry VII of England was born in his castle.
- Solva - A renowned boating center with one of the most picturesque ports in Wales.
- St David's - The smallest town in the Great Britain.

- Carew Castle - Ruins of an abandoned castle in 1690 and a tidal mill in the village of Carew. The tide mill, still functioning today, is located near the castle.
- St David's Cathedral - Founded on the site where St David founded a monastic community in the 6th century
- Cresswell Castle - 13th century castle on the banks of the River Cresswell.
- Strumble Head Lighthouse - A 1908 lighthouse set on a rocky islet connected by a bridge to the mainland.
- Haverfordwest Castle - Norman castle ruins.
- Manorbier Castle - 12th century castle in the village of Manorbier. The scholar Giraldus Cambrensis (Gerald of Wales) was born there in 1146.
