Perpignan is a city in the region Languedoc-Roussillon.
To know
Just 33 km from the border with the Catalonia, Perpignan already has the flavor of Spain. The French took the city from Spain in 1659 by virtue of the Treaty of the Pyrenees. The city is known as the city of flowers which are produced in great abundance. Given its location, Perpignan enjoys a sunny climate and in the summer it gets hot forcing its inhabitants to look for a bit of coolness in one of the many nearby beaches. For those who are forced to stay in the city, the riverside is the scene of concerts and recreational events that start after sunset and continue into the night, usually accompanied by tapas and rivers of beer.
