Pieszyce(German: Peterswaldau also Peterswaldau (Owl Mountains)) is a mountain town in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship in the Owl Mountains in the Medium brews. Its location makes the place an important center of tourism in the Owl Mountains. The place is the starting point for hikes in the surrounding mountains, including the Hohe Eule, which is located in the municipality. Thanks to Heinrich Heine and Gerhart Hauptmann, it is known as one of the places from which the Silesian weaver revolt began in 1844.

The place arose in the first half of the 13th century as a settlement of initially miners and later also weavers and was first mentioned in 1250. During the period of Polish particularism, he belonged to changing partial duchies, most recently to the Duchy of Schneidwitz-Jauer, which became dependent on Bohemia in 1368. In 1742/1763 the place came to Prussia. Tourism began to develop in the 19th century. The uprising of the Silesian weavers began here in 1844 and quickly spread to the entire Owl Mountains. The place continued to develop, with the exception of the times of the world wars. In 1945 the place came to Poland.
